Professor Lupin's quarterly DADA field trip

Teddy Lupin has never been quite orthodox, and therefore neither are his teaching methods. He prefers a hands on approach to what may be the dangers his students will be facing in the real world. While he doesn't throw them into war scenarios he does like to give them some hands on experience.

So he asked the Headmaster to allow him to take his students, all those who got their permission slips signed at least, on a field trip of sorts. They tend to be shocking and downright dangerous. This year that happens to be a Camping Trip into the Forbidden Forrest with nothing but their clothes, one magical tent lent to him by the Weasleys, their wands, and everything he has taught them about survival and the monsters and creatures they may or may not face, as well as one Care of Magical Creatures textbook.

His students will need to work together to survive for one week in the Forest.

Note: Third years and higher only, sign up below if you wish to participate a event sub board will be made in the forbidden forest!!

Matty passes by the announcement... grins, grabs the sign up form and quickly fills one out... Third year and up, simple enough and she had plans in place should something like this to take palce. With a light cackle she saunters off after leaving the filled out form under the Professor Lupin's office door.

Gemini grabs a form as she slips out of class. She reads it over, ponders it's contents and then sends it to her mother, not her father, for a signature, in a letter telling her mum the professors misplaced her Hogsmeade forms. She gets the owl back, with the form, and no signature. A small parchments in her father's neat and practiced Handwriting saying "nice try". She wonders if she could get Teddy to talk to his Grandmum, to talk to her Grandmum to talk to her father. Which sounded like a lot of work, until a lightbulb flashed in her hand. A letter to her favourite grandparent, and a long conversation with 'of course they're going to be safe they'll be in the woods with Teddy Lupin after all. He's family and they trust family, even estranged family. Gemini thinks it's just a way for Narcissa to get on good terms with her sister again. She hopes so, she knows the woman misses her sisters, despite one's insanity, and death, and the other's muggle husband. An owl with the signed slip for her comes back. She magically sticks it to Teddy's office door, and saunters away. She always loves when she can outwit her father.

Lancelot looked wearily at the paper. Sure, he wanted to go. There were so many really awesome plants in the forest, not to mention the creatures, but he also had this nagging feeling that Professor Lupin isn't telling them everything. He walks over to his father's office, who in turn goes to see Teddy. After walking back and forth across the school this is getting a little tiring. The raised eyebrow and pointed look at the permission form was enough make him snicker. "Come on Neville it's going to be fun, and educational." Neville sighs and signs the paper, handing it to Teddy, and clapping Lancelot on the shoulder. That was easier then he thought it would be.

Lancelot Allen Longbottum is now signed up.

Gwyn took the form easily, read it over very carefully. She trusted no one, not even the professors she had to make sure she wasn't signing away her first born or something. Not that she would ever have kids. She signed the paper, and handed it to the Professor before leaving. Being seventeen had it's perks. No longer needing her parents permission was a definite plus. Not that they would have minded much.

Gwyneth Ellis Moreau is signed up.

Rose grabbed one of the permission forms before she slipped out of class. Looking it over carefully, she decided that it would be in her best interests to go, if not just to hone her talents. She signed it, thankful that she didn't need parental permission. Hermione would get all paranoid and Ron would be encouraging her. She hands it in the next day, and can't shake the feeling that this is going to be a very interesting "field trip"

Rose Minvera Weasley is now signed up

Vie grabbed a slip and read it walking off. It could prove to be wise to go. She thought about it for a little while before sending off to Tony. And of course there was talking of who was going and everything. And in the end Vie managed to get Tony to sign the form. She handed it back in during her next D.A.D.A. class.

Albus read over the slip. Before he had even finished reading it over, he had already signed his name. There was no way he was going to miss a chance to go in to the forbidden forest. Besides, it won't be all bad. Teddy would be there. If for some reason something should go wrong, and none of the students were able to handle it, Albus knew they would be fine. Before walking out, he left the paper on Professor Lupin's desk and walked off. Another plus to being 17. He didn't have to wait for either his mom or dad to sign it and send it back. It just made it a lot easier for everyone.
